I checked my mail on Mar. 24th. In my mailbox was 1 piece of mail and a vacancy notice. The 1 piece of mail was dated Mar. 23, so the vacancy notice must have been put in my mailbox on the 23rd or 24th".

I called the customer service line to find out why my apartment was labeled vacant/. The customer service agent said they would escalate the issue, and I would receive a call back within 48 hours?.

I called the local office to find out if they could help?. I received the same answer;. Someone would call back in 48 hours/. On the 25th of March I checked my mail, to find one piece of mail dated Mar 22nd'.

I filed a complaint at the usps website also!. Today, Mar. 27, I called the customer service line again, and spoke to a supervisor. Someone closed my case stating I spoke to someone at the local office. I had not spoken to anyone in person who could resolve this issue. The clerk who answered at the local office said, "I'm just a clerk. I can't help you. Call back at 8am."

My apartment is not vacant; I've lived here since June 2009. My mail was not backed up, therefore there is no reason I can think of for the mailman to assume my apartment is vacant. I work 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. When am I supposed to be able to find my mailman and speak to him? What gives him the right to decide how often I am supposed to pick up MY mail? Again, the box was not full.

Today is Saturday, March 27, and still no call from the post office offering a resolution. I was expecting some important mail. I am assuming the postal carrier returned my mail to the sender. How do I know what I missed? How do I get what I missed back? Customer service cannot answer that question.

Clearly the USPS could eliminate 20% of its employees, the dorks, and make themselves solvent, and at the same time provide much better service. Getting past the union though, forget it.

I have talked to my carrier several times about being the only resident, but still sends some of my mail back to sender and delivers mail from people that have been gone for over a year.

Never offered to give me the supposed form to put in the box.

Oh also the date is what day it was mailed to you. So depending on where it was coming from may take extra day or so. good luck!!

Call the post office , give them your name and address and ask them to continue delivering your mail. They will relay the message to your mailman. It works!! And you could also leave a note in the mailbox for the mailman too.
