Avoid the USPS website for mail hold function

Not only is it out dated, privately intrusive, but after three days of trying, it still does not work. Since I have over 15 years of web design and implementation experience with top companies, I can honestly say the USPS.com mail hold function is user hostile and should be dropped before they waste more money attempting to make it function.

PREMIUM MAIL FORWARDING ON LINE

PREMIUM MAIL FORWARDING: For years I have used this service by filling out a long form, paying the fees, and submitting at my home post office. No problem. Then the PO decided to allow you to do this on line! Great! NO NO! The online form is terrible... missing necessary instructions... terrible! For example, there is a box to check "Resume normal delivery" at the end of the forwarding service. It also says you may delay normal BUT IT DOES NOT TELL YOU HOW TO DO IT! I had to call USPS for technical support, after wasting at least 2 hours of my valuable time trying to figure it out, without success. Than answer is that you check yes, resume delivery, and then you submit a separate hold mail form. WHY DOES IT NOT TELL US THAT? SO SIMPLE!

Let the company know this kind of service is unacceptable and receive a sincere apology and explanation.

Can’t understand you!

Called with a question about my mail. The representative I spoke with had a very strong accent and searched for her words. I think if your answering calls you should be able to speak clear enough for the person calling to understand you.

I sent the parcel to Russian on 10/07/19, it was processed through Los Angeles International Distribution Center, then lost. After a lot of calls from my side and filling an inquiry, the same parcel entered the same facility and was processed over there on 10/23/19....

USPS is AWFUL

Mail carrier puts notice in mailbox that he attempted to deliver a package. I have a Ring and checked to see if anyone came to the house. He didn't. Liar!!

Discrimination against the nationality

Every time I send the parcel to Russia, it is sitting in the internstionsl distribution center many days and no one is willing to scan it. I always feel discrimination against my nationality when I send my parcels by USPS Express International. I can feel it in the way they send my parcels, as well as in the way they are talking to me when I I file a case due to a huge delay. They always blame the other side or the customs. I don't send anything that is not allowed to send, that is why there is no issue for detaining my packages. When I call the customer service, they are not willing to help me. I wonder what is this service for? To read the words of the pitch? This simple work can be done by an automatic system. USPS protect themselves from any complaints: you cannot file complaint the way it was before, you cannot do it with a live agent. I sent my parcel to Russia on 10/07/19 international express, it is still in the International Distribution center and no one is going to take responsibility for this. I don't wish anyone to be discriminated against their nationality

Website mail hold faulty

Tried to put a hold on mail which I have done several times previously. There is a new website which requires logging in with passwords and answering security questions. Ok, fine. But when I try to log in and enter my phone number, site says not my number, enter another number. It’s the only number I have had for close to 30 years. So unless I go all the way to the post office, which does not answer the phone, no mail hold. :(

Incompetent

Important mail did not arrive at it's destination. Listed my return address and I did not get it back either. Another problem occurred when I purchased a PO Box over there. I wasn't getting my mail so I inquired to see if they had the right information. Well I found out they didn't entered the information right. Unacceptable, they all should be fired!
