On Feb 1, 2017 a package I was expecting was tracked and shown as "delivered". I didn't notice this until 2 days later, so I called the PO on 2-3-17.

They said they'd use the GPS to find where it was delivered, find it, retrieve it and get back to me. NOT! I've kept a log starting the third time I called without results. The log is now a page long with over 15 calls to the Post Office Mgr, Supervisor, my regular carrier, the PostMaster and even the Sheriff Dept and Deputy who went to the location and tried to get the package!

A substitute carrier was working on 2-1-17, so it wasn't our regular carrier that delivered it to the wrong address. I understand we're all human and make mistakes. But they charge a fee for a service and when a mistake is made, they should step up and be responsible instead of dragging their feet until the point my package vanished. Unfortunately this was a first class package and I guess I'm just out of luck.

I thought about taking them before a magistrate, but not sure that would do any either.

Anyone else know what else to do? I'm going to file a formal complaint today.

Lesson learned. Go insured or with another carrier.

To be fair I have to admit that I've never had a problem like this at my present address of almost 20 years. I guess I should be thankful for that.

I am, but not for the package that was given to a thief.

The supervisor, Pam, did finally call me back a second time, albeit 3 days after she said she would and told me that the substitute carrier at fault was asked to pay me for the package, but is unionized and was not required to do so.

So I'm SOL on that one.

Perhaps you should mail a turd to the postmaster and see if it goes missing as well.
