USPS - Postal employees - deriliction of duty
Open Letter To Congress:
Today I discovered that, when contacting virtually any employee by phone, at any of the multitude of numbers that are associated in any way with the U.S. Post Office, including all listed phone numbers for postal customer service, postal headquarters, postal regional offices, postal inspectors, postal regulatory commission, and postal investigators, those PUBLIC employees (ALL OF THEM) will refuse any request by the customer/citizen/taxpayer to speak with a supervisor and they will simply drop (hang up) the call.
There is apparently ZERO employee accountability across the entire U.S. Post Office, whereas in the private sector, an employee who evades supervisory scrutiny in this manner would be fired for misconduct. I challenge anybody to call these various U.S. Post Office phone numbers and then try to get a supervisor on the phone.
They will consistently refuse your request and hang up on you. Any public sector service organization that allows this kind of rampant and blatant evasion of employee accountability should be shut down and replaced by private sector management.
In the case of the U.S. Postal 'Service' and all of its related agencies, there are abundant reasons (inefficiency, waste, widespread employee incompetence and dereliction of duty) for Congress to submit & pass legislation to dismantle that so-called 'Service' and replace it with a private sector agency, minus the current employees.

this is true of most of the tax-payer funded federal quasi-gov'tment agencies
Why would you bother your local post office with your annoying phone calls? Theyre trying to sort through and deliver the hundreds of thousands of pieces of mail. Call the 800 number, thats why its there.
I have called the 800 number, filed 2 complaints, and still cannot get my mail delivered to an apt in NYC. Received notice that my box was full so I emptied box.
Local branch no help and despite the fact that I am home ALL day everyday (due to illness) the carrier refuses to ring the building buzzer for my apt.
At my wits end at who to contact next.
I read that someone contacted their congress rep. Did that help?
This is my 3rd complaint. I received a few notices that 2 packages were scheduled to be delivered on Monday 2/2/15.
The USPS delivery person arrived about 10:30am and even though there are over 400 apartment in this building, He was gone within 20 minutes. Needless to say, no packages were delivered. I called to voice my complaint, and was given a claim #. At 5:22pm, I got a text message stating that "delivery was attempted, Notice left, insecure area." NO DELIVERY WAS ATTEMPTED.
NO NOTICE WAS LEFT.
The Security Guard whose station is directly at the front door DID NOT SEE ANY POSTAL TRUCK, AND NO PERSON ENTER CARRYING A PACKAGE! Lies, lies ,& more lies!
Our Congress cant seem to keep the government open and running....and you think they care about this little story of yours......apparantly the world revolves around you...
