USPS - The U. S. Postal Service destroyed my brother's Christmas package to me. I wrote them three times, but they just ignore my complaint.

Dear Sir/Madam:
I wrote you a letter with specific requests on January 10, 2018. A copy of this letter is attached. Note that it is customary and business-like to respond to a letter. Ignoring a response to my letter doesnโt make your problem and responsibility go away. Once again, please respond to my letter!
In the destroyed/lost Christmas package (see attached letter) the following items that my brother sent to me were completely missing:
3 calendars from Germany
4 books
4 music CDs
A bottle of schnapps called โEifelgoldโ
8 packages of Christmas cookies
6 packages of candy (Toffifay)
Several letters from various businesses, including banks
6 bars of German chocolate
Every item (the calendars, books, CDs, cookie boxes, candy, chocolates and the bottle of schnapps) had a Christmas name tag on them with my name written on each). Note that the business and bank letters had my full name and address on them. Thus it would have been easy to place those items back into the specific โLoose Mailโ package or collection of items to be rewrapped for me. Instead, however, you sent me several unidentifiable items from people I donโt even know, including their Christmas cards and letters.
Again, to be honest, I donโt believe what happened was bad packaging and loose items, but what really happened was that several packages on your conveyor belt were for some reason damaged/destroyed. You then took these contents of at least three packages, threw them into three piles without sorting them or trying to identify the rightful owner and mailed these piles to three of your customers with the destroyed packages.
I do find this unacceptable. Surely you have an insurance program for cases like this one in which you damaged packages and their contents. Please reimburse me for the value of the lost items. I can ask my brother what he spent on the lost items.
Please reimburse me for the value of the lost items.
Regretfully yours,
Rolf T. Wigand
